Her leadership and dedication have helped shape Asmbly into what it is today, and we’re so grateful for all she has given.
We’ll also be celebrating and welcoming Galen Wixson as Asmbly’s first-ever paid Executive Director! This marks an exciting new chapter for our organization, and we can’t wait to celebrate the transition together.

You don’t need any IT experience to join this meeting if you’re simply interested in sharing ideas or learning how to contribute. We’ll talk about the various ways to get involved, including whether you should use AI to contribute and how our GitHub repo alone is an incredible way to help improve our backend!
We will meet in the Multipurpose room at Asmbly. In person is best for this meeting as we'll likely break off into small groups, but we will try to accommodate those joining over Zoom as best as we can.

Weaponized Plastic
Weaponized Plastic

Robot combat comes to Asmbly! A live exhibition featuring 20–25 battle robots, each 2.2lb max, built almost entirely from 3D-printed plastic, fighting head-to-head in a deadly competition.
This event is free to attend and free to compete for all ages!
When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, doors open 4:00 pm
Where: Asmbly Makerspace, 9701 Dessau Rd #304, Austin, TX 78754. Outdoors (outside)
Other activities we’ll have day-of:
* Tours of the Asmbly makerspace: woodshop, metal shop, laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics, ceramics, textiles
* Kid-friendly activities
* Meet the builders and their robots
